L2 EAD end date when i94 valid till Sep/2020 but Passport expires on Apr/2019

Hi

I am on L1 visa and my spouse is on L2 visa. When entering the US we got the i94 end date as sep/2020(My visa expiry date).
My passport expires next year in Apr/2019. I am waiting for my spouse's l2 ead since 4 months now. It is a frustrating journey in itself. I want to understand if her EAD card, whenever it comes, will it be valid till my i94 date or my passport expiry date.

Also what can be done if it is the latter, to avoid her losing a job.

EAD end date will be based on i94 date.

get your passport renewed as soon as possible after you receive your EAD.
