Hello,
I'm a Canadian citizen currently working in the US on an L1B visa. I'm engaged to an Australian working in the US on an E3 visa. I was recently offered a new job in the US and want to transfer onto an E3 Dependent visa. What is the quickest and easiest process? I read online that I can get the new company lawyer to file an I-539 and I-765 to change my L1B status to E3 Dependent. Does anyone have experience with this process and how long it'll take?
I really want to resign from my current job and don't mind living in the US without working until my I-765 and EAD are approved. So as a Canadian, I can apply for the E3 Dependent visa at the US port of entry. Does anyone have experience with this process and if there is a high denial rate? Do I have to quit my current job beforehand and have my L1B visa expire then move back to Canada and cross over again and get my E3 Dependent visa?
