Traveling to US on B1 after max stay on L1B

I am completing my max stay of 5 years on L1B in March 2018. I am planning to goto offhsore and work for the same employer. I know that I have to stay 365 days outside US to reset the max stay clock. My employer is planning to file my H1B visa this year.
Can I come to US between March 2018 and March 2019 on B1 visa? Will that effect my cool off period of 365 days?
