  • Salary commencement on L1A Entry

    Hello forum

I am in a bit of confusion

I entered US mid of Feb on my l1a.

My firm says they will start my salary on march 1 to avoid legal complication.

Not sure what that means but are they allowed to do so ?

Did you guys have similar experience ?

my side agenda is that I need two pay stubs to rent out the apartment to make sure that my security at home is also minimum ?

If you enter US , you must be on Legal L1A status and since this is company transfer i do not see any reason why company wont pay for days worked in FEB , your HR is the right person to talk to.

Your company should pay from the day you land in the US. They can't legally not pay you for the work days. May be they prorate and pay in March?

I think what HGupta means is that his company is paying FEB salary as per home country's scale and that they will start US pay scale from March 1.
This is what I understand from his post. I may be wrong though.
