Hello
I have a few questions about the L1A petition for a senior product manager role, which is an individual contributor with no direct reports.
Can someone review the below job duties and provide feedback or if someone is in the same boat and willing to exchange helpful hints and tips?
? 10% Create business plan for the function which I am managing. Currently, am the sole functional manager managing the O function within ABC. This functions is responsible for business worth more than $150M every single year and is critical towards ABC's goals such as, but not limited to
a. Increasing ABC's footprint in new markets in APAC and LATAM
b. Reactivating consumers who have not used ABC in a while, a direct KPI impacted by the O function
c. Increasing ABC's footprint in the Small and Medium sized business market, enabling these merchants to get more ABC consumers through O
d. Is strategic function for ABC and ZY's partnership, warranting its own contract and terms of use between the two companies.
? 30% Guide and prioritize the work-stream of engineering teams that execute the business plan.
? 5% Plan and organize short and long term goals for the function?s growth
? 20% Meet with business stakeholders across the globe to understand the different problems that my function can solve, devise a go-to-market strategy and then hand over execution to engineering teams to achieve the business objectives.
? 5% Represent the function in discussions and meetings with senior management to get high level approvals/ general direction
? 10% Work with different cross functional teams to provide them business requirements, and control the launch of different products.
? 10% Approve the output of the engineering team and approve go-to-market plans for the product.
? 5% Provide requirements to the design and engineering teams. Review and approve design team?s output, before engineering begins work.
? 10% Review business case from marketing teams to develop a specific feature within the function
? 5% Study the competitive and market landscape for my function, identify trends and strategic business opportunities for new products and present the business case to senior management
? Less than 5% : Provide feedback to engineering managers about individual engineers during yearly appraisal cycles which could impact the career growth of the engineers.
? Less than 5% Interviews for hiring other senior product managers and providing feedback on hiring decisions which could impact whether someone joins the company in the managerial function.
