Hi Everyone,

My company is offering me internal transfer to our HQ office in CA on L1 visa with wife on L2.
I dont have long term commitments to settle in USA. However I would like to spend around 3-4years in USA.
Is it possible to extend L1 visa til 4yrs? If not what are my options?

L1-B is is extendable till 5 years and L1-A is extendable till 7 years.

But what are the implications? Can this L1 be easily extended by employer or I will have to travel to India for 6months and go back?

You will straight away get 3 years of visa initially, for extension it has to be done by your employer within US, you don't have to go back to India.
