  • Receipts sent by USCIS for L1,L2 and EAD extension application

    Dear All,

My Company filed for L1 extension for me and L2 extension for my wife. In the Application I checked the option for applying for EAD extension for spouse and submitted photocopy of current EAD and employment details for my wife (salary slips).

I received two Receipts I-797C with Case type I129 (self) and I539 (spouse). And also unable to figure out from those receipts if EAD extension was filed, looks like it wasn't.

Even after multiple requests, I didn't receive any confirmation for my spouse EAD extension from my Company.

Is there a way to confirm if EAD application has been filed based on the Receipts?

    Hello,

L2 EAD renewal is applied via Form I-765 and USCIS provides a receipt number on the I-765 submitted. In my opinion and experience, there is no way to know that an EAD application is filed and received based on the I-129 and I-539 for yourself and your spouse respectively.

You should explicitly ask your company, if they submitted a Form I-765 for your spouse's L2 EAD renewal. If not, you should file it immediately based on the L1/L2 Extension receipt numbers.

    Thanks
    Rajesh
