  • L1 to L2 conversion and EAD

My wife and myself both own individual L1A visas working with same employer

For some reasons, my wife wants to quit her L1 and get L2 visa and EAD to work with another employer.

    1. What is the best way so we can get her L2 and EAD sooner
    2. If she files L2 and USCIS denies change of status application, can she still continue on L1 or she would be considered "out of status" and will be required to depart from US immediately upon notification of such denial of status.
    3. For EAD filing, is it region specific. If yes , can we file with region with sooner approval date.
Please advise, which Center should we apply (We live in California)

Visit your home country & get the L2 visa there, come back & then apply for EAD.

Yes, if L2 is denied (very low chance), she can still continue on her valid L1.
