L2 Work Permit legal issue doubt

I might face a typical situation.

My wife is on L1B visa and I am on L2 with EAD work permit.
I am on L2, Fulltime working for an MNC.

My wife has to go back to India until she gets new project back in USA.

My question is
Can I still continue to stay in US and do my work here when my wife is back in India until she comes back? is that legal ??

L2 is a dependent visa & if the primary applicant is not maintaining her status (getting paid in USA) your status will also be lost.
