  • L1 Salary details in DS160

    Dear all,

I am filling DS160 for L1B Blanket - on the last page, it asks for US organization & Salary. I will be on my Indian organization's payroll, and paid per diem+housing etc while in USA.
Should I fill the Indian Salary translated to USD (would be very low considering the exchange rate), or per diem amount, or both? I do not see any place to write comments that I will have housing, company car etc facilities. Will it create a problem in visa?

    Appreciate your views.

It should be your combined cost to company (i.e. your India salary + per diem + housing cost + any other allowances).

Thank you for your input. Unfortunately, I was travelling and didn't check the forum (my bad). My company's immigration lawyer said that we should fill Indian Salary converted to USD, and put the same amount in I129S as well, with remarks saying "Standard company benefits".

I had an interview in Chennai on 10th September, which got rejected with "Not clearly approvable". However, even before turning the mic on and asking me anything, the VO took my passport & forms, looked at his screen, and made a face and mumbled something like "what..why" (I could make it from his expression and lips movement).

Just asked me three basic questions and said its not approvable. Didn't give any form or reason.

The immigration lawyer is now saying we can file an individual petition with premium processing. Will update here what happens next.

Sorry to hear about that rejection. Blanket visa have 50-50 chance for approval. The VO rejects the application even on an iota of doubt.

An individual petition will be the best deal for you now. Best of luck !!
