Travel Suggestion Outside US - L1 A Approved Petition OR AP

Hi All,

Need quick suggestion. I have approved L1 A Petition till may-2019. I also have AP valid till feb-2019 (140 and 485 Still pending). Planning to travel in October-2018 for a month outside US. My company is recommending me to go for L1-A Stamping. Should i enter using AP or should i go for stamping? Confused.. Please help

Either options are fine. If you get L1 visa stamped, then you are hedging against any eventuality of I140 and/or I485 being denied. But in the big picture it does not alter things for you in a major way viz., May 2019 isn't very far, and if your GC petition gets denied, having L1 until May next year might not give you enough time to explore alternate options.

Even if you do not use your AP/EAD, you should definitely renew them before Feb, since renewals are free.

Thanks for the suggestion. What if my L1A Stamping gets rejected? Can i still enter through AP?
