L1 B Renewal impact on existing stamped visa

Hello

I have a valid L1 B valid till Mar, 2019. I wanted to go for renewal of L1 B through Consulate.
I am planning to visit mexico for my visa and stamping. If in case renewal get denial from consulate, Will they going to cancel my stamped visa (which is valid till mar, 2019) ?

No. Your present VISA will not be cancelled. Only your extension will be denied.

It depends on the discretion of the VO.

If he rejects your extension, it means there is something wrong he is seeing on your profile & thus depending on the reason, he can reject your existing visa also.
