L1B I129S Extension

Hello,

My L1B Visa expires on 1-Nov-2018. My I129S extension was approved till April, 2020 and I had received the approval notice before my travel to US. But when i entered US last month, my I94 was granted till 1-Nov-2018. I am clueless why my I94 was granted only till 1-Nov-2018 even though my I129S extension was approved. I received the new I129s hard copy recently after entering to US. Any comments please.

Do you have any annotation on your visa? To show I797/I129 at POE?

Since you did not had hard copy of your approved I129S, did you shown that soft copy at POE?

No i did not. Wouldn't that be updated in the USCIS database since it was approved?. Do I need to show it to the officer without him asking me to?

Yes, it is your responsibility to furnish the documents. USCIS and CBP access different databases.

My wife is traveling this weekend to US. Now that I have my new I129s till 2020, can my wife show the new I129s at POE and get a I94 till 2020?

Yes, please ask her to show it explicitly so that she can get I94 till 2020.

Thanks @Libra for all your valuable suggestions. My wife traveled last week and she got her I94 till 2020. The officer recognized the petition validity till 2020 in the system and granted her longer I94 period.
