L1B i-129S expiring in Nov2018, L2 visa/i-94 valid till 2020

My L1B i-129s is exp in nov2018 company filed new petition stamping in canada oct2018. My wife L2 visa/i-94 valid till 2020. even she should travel with me to canada for stamping? or can she stay in US (with existing valid visa )till i come back and later can file extension for L2 in US. She can not travel now. Please suggest.

you need not travel for just stamping. if your extension is filed, you can apply for i94 extension along with it. once its timely filed, you are allowed to continue working for up to 240 days from the expiry date of your I-94. your wife need not travel since she has a valid i94 till 2020. visa is for entering into US. your stay is determined by i94.
