L2 Extension along with L1 Extension when L2 current status is H1

Initially I had L2 visa, and after 3 months I got my H1 stamped. Now my husband's L1 extention is being in filling process. Please note we both work in same company. My query is: Can I file my I539 for my L2 extension along with my husband's L1 extension application? Will it affect my current h1 status.

Which visa did you use at the POE upon your last arrival in USA?

If you used H1, & file I539 for L2 extension, your H1 status will be lost.

I entered as H1. Now how can I get my L2 extended in case I plan to come out of H1 in few months or there is some issue in my H1. The only option I would have is to fall back on L2. If I don't extend my L2 now then how can I do it later?

You can file for COS from H1 to L2, while in USA & then file for extension.

You do not need to do anything for now.

When you want to switch your visa, file to COS at that time (you do not need L2 visa, if you doing COS, while being inside USA).
