  • L1A Individual - small company experience

I would like to thank this forum for indirectly helping me throughout the process from 'which visa' to 'taking a rick to consulate'. Thanks a lot.

    - Part of a small tech company (<150 people)
    - Head of function; 15 yrs of exp; significant travel record
    - Moving to run the show along with couple of US employees
    - Decided on L1-A visa - due to role, responsibility, experience & salary
    - Applied; RFE; Responded; Approved; Interview done; Awaiting passport.

    My views (completely personal)
    - Story should be aligned & water-tight
    - Documentation to prove & support the story; even email proofs are good
    - If you state the role is big, better the salary be
    - You alone write the response, don't leave it to hr or others, it helps a lot
    - Interview: Dress-up, articulate well. (I prep-ed a lot but my interview was way lite; but I saw people in-front being grill-ed)

    Hope it helps. Thanks !

For an approved L1A individual petition the interviewer doesn't really have much to question during interview.
