L1 Visa Eligibility Inquiry
Hello Sir/Madam,
My name is Siddharth and I am working with IBM, India as a Technical Team Lead. I hold Bachelors Degree in Engineering(Electronics).
I had a question regarding L1 Visa application eligibility.
My project requires me to travel to US and therefore my manager wants to file L1 visa for me.
I have 6+ years experience in IT industry. [Note: I have been to US thrice (Twice on B1 visa and once on L1 visa) in the past 6 years]
Following is my experience breakup.
Aug 2006 - till date IBM India
Sept 2004 - Aug 2006 Satyam Computer Services
Oct 2002 - Sept 2004 IBM India
July 2000 - Oct 2002 Syntel India Ltd.
Since, the L1 visa application eligibility criterion pertaining to stay with current organization dictates:
(Note: Following is an excerpt from website: https://www.immihelp.com/usa-visas/l1/)
* The employee must have worked for the US-based company abroad on a full-time basis for at least one continuous year out of the last three-year period;
You may notice (in my experience breakup shown above) that my stay with the current organization i.e. IBM India has been more than one continuous year in the last three-year period.
Keeping this in mind, do I qualify to apply for L1 visa?
Kindly revert as soon as possible as there is an urgent requirement for me to travel for this project.
