L1 and H1 visa

Hi,

I am currently in US on L1.My petition expired in may 2006.I applied for extension and my petition is approved till May 2008.
My company has also filed H1 for me.I am planning to goto India.If
I get my L1 extension stamped and return to US,will my H1 be still valid or will it get cancelled?

H1 will not be valid as you will be entering on L1 and the I-94 number will change and they will rcord a new L1 entry.
