Regarding visa stampin and green card please help

hello,
i have changed the status (B1 to L1) after coming here. Since i dont have US degree i need to get my passport stamped in india. my lawyer says its risky. i need to go to india in dec 2007. will it be possible for me file for green card and go to india and re-enter without need of having my visa stamped ??

Filing for a GC and getting a travel permit will take years. If you apply now, (looks like 5 + years). I think you should try getting it stamped in Canada. IF you have any Qs email me
