L1 - Clarification

Hi,
I am on L1 through a Company "A" and working in US now. I have got a Offer from a US Company "B" ( they are a very small company), they are not sure if I can transfer my L1 to "B" company. Can anyone tell me is there a way I can move to the Company "B" by this year end ? . I think it's not possible, in that case is there a way I can go back to India by this yearend and do a "L1" from B company immediately ( I heared i need to be in company B" in india for a year ? ). Pls advise..

L1 visa cannot be transfered between different companies.

L1 visa is for intra-company transfers. You need to be an employee of that company for minimum 1 year before applying the L1 visa.

Instead, you can directly apply H1B.
