Applying for L1 with h1 Status and h1 transfer

Hello everybody,
I am working for company A in India and i get my h1 visa from company B in the US.

Can i -
1.Apply for intra company transfer from my present company i.e L1 visa from company A? If Yes, do i retain my H1 status with company B while i travel to the US on an L1 from company A?

2. Is it possible to get the H1 sponsorship transferred from company B to company A while i am in India?
