The six years allowed on my H1B expire in an year's time. My wife is on L1 and currently has about six years left on her allowed duration. Once my regular six years of H1B get over, can I immediately obtain an L2 and continue to work in the US, or do I *have* to leave US for an year before I can return to work ? (assuming I don't apply for H1 extension).
I would rather try to find a new job that can fetch me a GC than re-applying for H1.
