I came to US on L1-B 2 years ago and I have one more year for my visa to expire.
My company would like to sponsor green card for me and decided to convert from L1B to L1A and then process green card.
When we contacted a reputed attorney ..they told it is not possible to convert from L1B to L1A as per the law unless we show that I worked for one year at managerial position abroad.
It is logically wrong to prove that I worked as executive level in my company as I came to US on L1B under specialized knowledge category.
My question is .....
1. Currently , I am working at executive level in my US company .. will this be sufficient to show for my conversion from L1B to L1A.
2. Can I show that I worked as manager for particular department at india office when I was there and then came to US on L1B under specialised knowledge.
3.Is conversion from L1B to L1A possible as per immigration laws? If not ..then what are the better options I have ..
