  • L1 eligibility

I am going to complete an year in US serving for the US sister concern of an India based reputed IT firm . I am on EAD (L2) and shall have my EAD expiring this year end. I wish to know if I am eligible for L1 through my present employer? The only problem I see is that L1 is probably meant for outstation comps and been hired by its US counterpart, I may not be eligible.

    Please help

I swear I read this post three times and I couldn't make head or toes of it.

You're on L2? That is a dependant visa for an L1. And you have been working for an X company in the US?

The rules for L1 are simple: you can temporarily transfer to a new office/subsidiary in the US of your parent company, after working for the parent company for at least one year outside the US.

You were working IN the US.
