  • L2 Visa - ead woes

    hi all,
    This is my case history,

    Applied for EAD - 22nd Jan 2007
    Receipt notice - 24th Jan 2007
    Biometric notice-6th Feb 2007
    Biometrics done - 03 Mar 2007

Then things started going haywire , apparently due to some data entry problem , the address was wrong and USCIS sent a mail for the RFE on 4th of April.

On April 25th I made an infopass appointment for interim EAD. They say that they cannot issue interim card because the RFE has been sent already ! Came back , called USCIS and lodged a service ticket to resend the information .. Action was promised in 4-5 days, waited for 3 weeks nothing happened , finally called back USCIS

As a result of numerous calls , I got the RFE sent on 25th of May, and replied with all docs on 30th of May.

Till now there has been no update on the case, I'm considering another infopass appointment.

Can I ask for an Interim EAD now ?

I came across a link that says L2 Visa does not need an EAD !

    Any links/pointers will be welcome

Sometimes people get approval within 3 weeks. As far as I know, EAD is necessary and essential for you to work. You apply for SSN also thru EAD card display

    All the Best!!
