Hi, I came here on H4 visa last month. My company has Blanket L1 approval and under that Now they started applying L1 Visa for me. Do I really need to go India for stamping? Or Can I start work here with new I-797 ?
Please suggest me.

Change of status.

If you apply staying at US you will have the Visa status but not a Stamped Visa. So the difference would be you will not be allowed to travel in and out of US with the New status. If you get it stamped at your home country at U.S consulate you will be allowed to travel in and out of US. without any restrictions. Ofcourse once your change of status has been approved and you have your I 797 with you, you can start your new employment. But before the approval you should not start working with the new venture.

do I get the I-797? Because my company has an Blanket L1 Approval. So I guess they would be giving me only petition...Any idea how it works..highly Appreciate your help in this regard..
