L2 VISA - Work for Indian Company

hi,

I and my spouse are both working. My spouse will be travelling to US on L1 Visa for a period of 12 months. I would like to join my wife on a L2 Visa. My current employer is fine with me being away from India and working as long as it is legal for me to work from US (my pay would be here in India and not in US).

I wanted to know whether this is legal? (I would be continuing to work for the Indian company and draw salary in India and not in US). What are the formalities that I would need to go through?

Kindly let me know the procedure.

That will be fine

As far as I know, if you are drawing salary there, then it will not be illegal to work for ur indian company from USA. I think no formality is reqd

thank you Sripad. I know if I work for a US company and getting salary in US, then I would need to go trhough some procedures and apply for EAD. but wasn't sure for this one...
