How long i can stay on L1 after getting H1

Hello friends,
I am currently on L1 visa with company A. In Apr'07 company B applied for H1 and now it got approved. But i would like to stay on L1 with company A for few more months. My questions are:

1. Is there any legal problems involved if i stay back on L1?
2. If i apply for L1 extention will it have any impact on my H1?

Yes, when they filed your H1B, they have requested change of status. So if your H1B is valid from October 01, 2007 - You are presently on H1B Status.

2. If i apply for L1 extention will it have any impact on my H1?

You may not get an L1 Extension. However, if your L1 is still valid, you should re-enter the country on L1 and regain L1 Status.
