Urgent- Need help L1--> H1B

Hi,

I came to US last year and working for Company A on L1 visa. Now iam planning to apply for H1 through a consultancy B. But i have some questions on how to apply H1B:

1) Is L1 to H1B transfer possible? or i have to apply a new H1B visa.
2) If company B submits the paper work in April will i be able to Travel to India in June?
3) What are the risk factors involved if i travel when H1B is in progress.

Kindly clarify these questions.

Hi Pavani,

Even was undergone same situation,
I dont find any risk factor involve in applying H1 from L1 <status>

-- can't transfer from L1 to H1, need to apply new H1B visa request in next year cap.
-- Before stamping H1B on your passport, you can travel, it wont be the issues

Hi,

Thanks alot for replying to my post. Since we submit our I-94 when we apply for H1B and its number will change when we travel india, i heard this might create some issues. Can you please let me know if its true? also please let me know how did you handle such situation. Do we have to update the application with our New I-94 number again.
