H1 COS to L2 ? is it possible?

Hi all,

am on H1 from Oct 07.earlier i am on L2 visa whic is valid till 2009 march..if am on Maternity leave from mar-may 2008, can i COS to L2 visa?but the consultant said he will maintain my status...n in worst case if i wont get project after that said period i will be out of status..so viewing all impending cases can i COS to L2...or is stamping necessary for L2...i have my L2 visa n I 94 still valid.

is COS from H1 to L2 possible? or do i need to go back to my home country n get L2 stamping n then to land up in US?
