L2 and I-94 have expired , can I travel to India ?

Hi,
I am looking for answers to the following questions ...
Case Details :
My wife's L2 visa , EAD and I-94 have expired .
Application has been made for L2 extension (I - 539) , and I have the copy of the receipt.

Doubts:

1. She wants to leave USA for abt 1 month 's vacation and then come back .
Can she leave the USA and travel to India ?
2.For re-entry into USA , I understand that a new L2 VISA will need to be filed for her .
Will she face any diffculties in getting the VISA stamped ? Can the embassy officer reject her VISA on any grounds , especially as her EAD was filed ?

---- Yes she can travel to India

---- She should have the L2 extension papers in hand to be shown to the VO at the US consulate in India while interviewing for a L2 Visa. the receipt alone does not mean anything to the VO

Did your Wife's case was approved in US consulate ? Was there any issues in getting EAD after the re entry in to US?
