Is H1 petition valid alongwith L2

Hi,
I hold a H1B visa from YYYY company.I am in India currently and my husband has travelled to USA on L1 visa from YYY company.Actually my H1 is about to expire and approval is expected to come soon.As of now,I am not getting any opportunity near to my husband's location from my company(ZZZ).I have below queries:
a)If I get L2 dependent visa processed from my husband's company,will my H1 petition be still valid?
b)If suppose I get my H1 petition approval and dont get it stamped and go for L2 processing from my husband's company(YYY),will my H1 petition be still valid.

Not clear, what approval? Did you stamp visa in your PP? Give clear dates?
