L1 B visa, company takeover & India travel

Currently I am in US on L1B and my company is being taken over in a month's time. Unfortunately I need to travel to India at that time. If the takeover happens when I am in India, what will be the impact on my status? Will I be able to re-enter US before the new company files an amendment petition on my behalf?

I don't think you will have problems at US immigration at airport because they will check the date on petition. If original petition itself states that your project is valid until date beyond your arrival date.

but if when you go to india make sure you have proect in USA from Indian office may be, so that you can continue working in USA.
