Hi,
I entered US on L1 visa. My I94 was initially stamped for 2 yrs. Later i had issues with my I94 as the name mentioned was partly incorrect. I had to get this rectified by visiting the US Customs and Border Security office. During the course of correcting my name, the immigration officer informed me that I94 should get stamped for 3 yrs from the date of arrival in US and hence he extended my I94 by one more year.
And now the real issue.
My wife joined me later on L2 (dependant visa) and she got visa as well as I94 for 2 yrs (It coincides with my petition Expiry date). Now her I94 is expiring before mine. Although my petition is expiring, my stay is still VALID as my I94 is valid. But this is not the case with my wife whose VISA/I94/Petition are all expiring.
Is there some way to extend her I94 based on mine I94 date. I presume that L2 I94 should always follow the L1 I94 if you are staying in US. I am exploring the option of extending my petition but that will take atleast 2-3 months during which my wife's stay would become illegal.
Please help me on this. Any info/guidance will be greatly appreciated.
