    Hi,

I am Nisha. I have completed B.E in Comp.Sci. and I am having 3+ yrs of exp. in Software Testing and currently working in one of the reputed company in India. My husband is working in USA on L1 Blanquet and I got L2. While applying for L2 (Dependent visa) on DS 156 form I have mentioned my designation as house Wife, Now I am planning to apply for EAD(Work Permit); the query is "what are the things I have to consider while applying for EAD"?

Should I mention the work experience while applying for E.A.D?

Please suggest me the ways to resolve the conflict?

    What's up Nisha?

I don't see any conflict. On L2, you can apply for EAD. If the application requires you to mention your experience, you should because you have it.

EAD has nothing to do with your work experience nor does the application ask/need/require one.

One qualifies for EAD based on their visa status and can work any job from burger flipping to hi tech worker with the exception of F1-OPT-CPT students with an EAD.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

EAD is applied at USCIS and I think they don't check what you wrote on your DS-156. Even if they did, it does not matter. You are free to change your mind since an L visa allows immigrant intent.
