Convert L1 to L2

Hi
Currently I am on L1 visa and now I want to convert it to L2 to stay with my husband. I have couple of questions,could anyone please reply it!!

1) Can I process my L2 from US itself or I need to go to India back?
2) I am taking LWP(leave without pay) from my company so after L2 can i work in US though I will not resign it from my current company?
3) Is there any way to keep L1 and L2 both or like to revoke L1 after going back to india?

I need these answeres ASAP.

1. Can be done in US. Look at form I539. For a visa, you need to travel outside the US.

2. You can do that after the L2 COS has been filed with USCIS.

3. Only 1 status will be allowed at a given time in US. The VO may cancel the other visa as these are related visas.
