Name change requirement for L2 visa

Hi,

I have a doubt about L2 visa. I recently got married and got my original marriage certificate as well. I want to take my wife along with me to US on dependant’s visa. We both have valid passports. My wife got her passport before marriage. Is it necessary to change her name on the passport before applying for dependant’s visa? Please help.
