  • L1B - Prospective employer

    Hi,

I am working in the US on an L1B visa. I have an offer in hand from another employer, but since my L1 visa won't remain valid as soon as I stop working for the current employer, I am loooking for a workaround solution.

Would appreciate suggestions about any and all possibilities, and comments on which one is best work-able.

So far, have been sggested the following two:

    1. Get enrolled in a Univ. as a student and get a CPT. Is this work-able... are there universities that enroll students whose sole aim to take a CPT and keep working full-time? How long does this process typically take?
    2. Get employed by the firm's Canadian office but keep going back and forth in the US. Is this possible (what visa categories)? How long does it typically take to get the Canadian work visa in place?

    Thanks

    1. NO.
    2. You have to work for canadian office for 1 year for L1 through them, so you got to go through Canadian work permit or whatever... Going back and forth possible on B1 visa. But you cannot get paid by US employer.
    3. In the meantime, you can play the H1 lottery game next April.
