  • L2 to L1

I'm in the US on an L2 visa and I'm currently talking to a company which I worked for its subsidiary company when I was out of the US. I've worked there for 3 years and resigned in July 08.
I know that had I been in my home country (Israel), then I could have gotten an L1 visa quite easily and quickly (the company is a very big company and has an L-blanket for sure).
What I need to know is:
    1. How long does it take to adjust status from L2 to L1 ?
    2. Do I need to get a new visa in the passport (now or next time I get to Israel) ?
    3. Am I allowed to start working once the AOS pettition is filled or so I need to wait for the AOS approval ?

    Thanks,
    Arnon.
