Hi Guys,
I'm new to this forum and would greatly appreciate any help received in the following matter.
I would be taking an appointment for my L1-B interview in a couple of days (chennai consulate) and needed some help on Q37 of DS156 form - 'Do you have any relatives in the US' ?
https://www.immihelp.com/us-visa-app...n-form-ds-160/.
1) I have 2 sisters in the US. One with green card status and the other on L1B. Both of them are married. Since Q37 allows you to fill only one relative's details, whose details should i give in the application?
2) If I indicate the one with L1B status, will the consulate officer be able to find out about my other sister's status and vice versa?
3) Has anyone had a similar experience ?
4) Would the chances of rejection be higher if i give my first sister's (green card) information on the application? Because I feel indicating green card status on the form is like putting a red flag out there!
I have been to the US before on a B1 visa (for training). I understand that i would have to convince the consulate officer that my purpose of visit is purely work related and that i have no plans to immigrate to the US (which i really don't). I have all the necessary documents needed for the visa - I797B, I129 petition etc.
what is the best possible way to deal with this situation? Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
