Regd: My H1 is shortlisted,But I have an onsite opportunity thru L1

Hi....

My H1B is got shortlisted and the Visa will be effective from Oct 2008 - OCt 2011.But I have not been for stamping, because iam on L1 and my company is planning to send to US in November 2008.My plan instead of going for stamping, I will go to US on L1 and will apply for the change of status there itself from L1 to H1.

But I a vae a question like....Can I visit US on L1 and the Can I apply for change of status...My only worry is My H1 is applied from US and that time they submitted with my I-94.....now iam in india.....

You can do that. Only caveat being once the COS gets approved, you are immediately on H1b and you should NOT work on L1 anymore. No exceptions or notice periods can be accomodated.
