L1 Visa transfer

Hi

I went through your site however couldn't find answer to one of the questions which applies in my case.

I worked with an employer (a MNC) in India for around 3.5 years and then quit in August 2008. Now they want to apply for a L1 Visa to United states for me and want me to work from there. At present i am employed with another employer. Now my question is if they want to apply an L1 VISA for em do i have to join that organization's India office first and then get an L1 or can i get a L1 and join them directly in United states ?

Yes, you should join them in India first and then get transfer. As you might know, L1 is intracompany transfer.
