L2 Visa Processing

Hi,

I am in US on an L1 visa. My spouse plans to come to the US on an L2, apply for an EAD and work here. Under which circumstances an EAD may be denied? Around how much time does an EAD take for processing?

If I return to India. Still can my spouse continue to stay in the US till my L1 is valid. Say my L1 is valid for another year and I return to India now. Can my husband continue to stay in the US for another year?

Will having an L2 and not using it, cause any concerns in future? If I have an L2. Will it cause any problems to apply for an H1 or any other visa in future or simultaneously during the time the L1 is valid?

If L1 person has already gone back home, L2 spouse can't stay back in the US and work. L2 is dependent on L1. L2 EAD is not the same as the greencard.

There is no harm in not using L2 EAD after getting. There is no problem in getting H1 either after getting L2 EAD.
