L1 extension rejected - plan

My L1 will expire on 17 Jan 09. The company has applied for the extension.
I have heard that many extensions have got rejected lately.

Could you tell me what should I do if my L1 extension get rejected ?

If your L1 extension is rejected, you must return to your home country. The L1 visa allows you to be a "guest worker" and does not confer any immigrant status preferences. There is no other option unless you have received approval of another status or can be a dependent on another individual's status.
