  • L1 extension and stamping

    Hello,

I'm on L1B visa that is valid till 17 Feb 2009 (per my visa docs and I94). I'm in the US and the employer have filed for the extension.
I hope to get the extension by Jan 09.

Suppose if I get the extension petition by Jan 15 2009, by when do I have to get my extended visa stamped?

Some people told me that I've to get it stamped in 1 years' time ? Is this correct ?

    Thanks. !!!

No, it is not true. It is your choice. You can remain as long as the extended I-94 is valid without a visa stamp. Visa is needed only if you want to travel. Once inside the US, I-94 determines and controls your stay and is more important than the visa.
