L1B RFE - extension

Hi,

I have been working on L1 B since Oct 2004. I first got L1 for 1 year and then for 3 years until Nov-2008.
In October I filled for extension and got an RFE (specialized knowledge, team structure, training etc.) to be responded by January-2009. I will appreciate if you can reply to following questions -

1. I have heard now that extensions are being rejected, would it have been good to go back and file a fresh L1B petition instead of extension? Even though my work place would have been same here.

2. What are the chances that my extension gets approved based on ongoing situation? Are they rejecting all extensions?

3. If it gets rejected and I go back to my conutry, after hom much time I can file a fresh new petition and what are the chances of its rejection?

Based on recent forum posts, there have been quite a few rejections. But there is no blanket rule that all extensions are being denied. If the company is able to prove the specialized knowledge, you will be fine.

I wonder if this rejections/scruitnizing applies only for L1b (technical) or will also apply for L1A (managerial category)?
