teaching assistantship on L2

i am currently on L2 visa and supposed to join graduate school soon. I have a work permit on my visa.

1. Can I avail teaching and research assistantships while on L2 visa or would I be required to change to F1?

2. Am I even eligible for any fellowships on L2 visa?
