My name incorrect in my daughter's visa. How to get it corrected. I'm in US

I am currently in US. When I got the visa stamped for me and my family, I leave instantly for US and at the port of entry, I was told that my first name is incorrect on my daughter's visa (L2). He let us in but ask us to get it corrected.

Can someone please help me by telling me the process to get it corrected. I searched the net and found that this can be corrected through VFS in India but no where found information about correcting in US.

Any help will be really appreciated. I am in Seattle currently.

This is disappointing to know. My wife/daughter planning for trip to India. They might be questioned during there departure and almost certainly will face troubles when returning.

How can I get this corrected? Do I need to be in India for correction. Is there any workaround existing. I am really worried, please help... what options do I have..

Nothing is asked during departure. You need not go to India. They might need to apply for a new visa and you just need to send the paperwork and pay the fee again.

It is your fault that you ignored the mistake after getting the visa stamped and they may not correct it now for free. No harm trying. Email VFS and ask.
