Is ESTA needed for L1 Visa?

Dear Sir, Madam,

We've been informed of the new ESTA - Electronic System for Travel Authoriza-tion. One of our employee has the L1 visa which is valid until July 2009. As far as I understood he shouldn't need to complete the application form until his visa expires. Could you please confirm it to me ?

That is correct. ESTA is only for those traveling on visa waiver program.
