Need information on L1B expiration - Pls help

Hello Experts,

Have 2 questions I'm seeking some answers for. Pls help :

1. My L1b Visa expires on 05/25/10 (this date completes the 1st 3 years on this visa) & I need to know the visa extension procedure. Any information links pls?
2. One quick question related to the above...Do I have to go back to India & stay for a year before I apply for the extension?
3. On L1 B, am I eligible to apply for a Green Card? Is the timeline the same for GC processing as in for H1 B?

---- Your employer has to file all the necessary forms to extend the L1 petition while you are in the US

---- No

---- Yes, you can apply for GC. The time line is the same
